Right now I am editing a big BRICK of a fantasy novel called Dream of Death City.
It will be out in November 2022 (eeek) and is the first full-length book in a new dark fantasy series I am working on, called the Red Kingdom series.
I’ve been loving creating the world these stories are set in, and world-building might have become my absolute favourite thing. The land I’ve been writing about is pretty dark and creepy, and here are some of the things you can expect from Dream of Death City:
- A slave who wants to prove her worth by hunting down a killer
- An investigator haunted by his bloody past
- A frozen frontier wasteland, where relics of the past rust among a thousand islands, and colossal death giants roam the sea
- A mysterious power that may or may not be real, called the crooked beat
- Fanatical Purge House and its silent, masked warriors, who are determined to burn anyone who doesn’t adhere to their strict Red Reform Laws
And loads more, obviously. It’s really a very BIG book, haha. Also, I am actually finishing up with a novella set in the same Red Kingdom world, and I’m hoping I’ll have a book cover to share with you next month! Maybe. We will see. Keep an eye out!
